Ten Years · A Poem Penned to Time|Four Seasons Imagery

Life between heaven and earth is like a fleeting white colt passing a crevice—it suddenly appears and vanishes. —Zhuangzi, “Knowledge Travels North”

On the second-floor outer corridor of the bookstore, there once was a quiet shop called “Yiwen Bookstore.” Due to its tranquility and few visitors, I often frequented it, favoring those meticulously printed books on design, home, and plants. In early 2015, the three of us found our respective reads and settled into a corner. A sincere promise rang clearly in my ears; I looked around in surprise, only to see the few patrons in the serene store immersed in their own literary worlds… Recently, passing by, I noticed it had transformed into something else. Sighing at the change, I felt even more the silent passage of time, altering everything quietly.

Indeed, starting from scratch with mere passion to become an artisan in a niche and modest craft, the hardships of entrepreneurship are self-evident! Designing, photographing, packaging… every detail handled personally, constantly switching between multiple roles, exploring and moving forward. Attempting to connect with various platforms, integrating into different communities, experiencing that sense of helplessness and fear… all for the initial belief, a boundless vision.

Life doesn’t always proceed in an orderly, calm manner… Ten years have passed, stumbling along the way, bit by bit, converging into the present form. All the trials have paved the way for a new journey; understanding that the future is still full of challenges, I wish to follow my heart and move toward the light… Sincerely grateful for everyone’s companionship, all the care and support are etched in my heart!

New Arrival | Four Seasons Imagery

Living in the south, where the four seasons are blurred, many seasonal images need to be filled in by memory… Inspired by the sentiment of seasonal changes, we attempt to reconstruct the forms of “Spring, Summer, Autumn, Winter,” combining the concept of planar color composition to explore a new visual language.

Chinese characters, one of the oldest scripts in the world, can be traced back to oracle bone inscriptions; they are not only symbols for recording language but also the essence of Chinese civilization, embodying the ancients’ profound understanding and aesthetic appreciation of all things. Unlike the linear arrangement of Western phonetic scripts, Chinese characters are ideographic, with forms that inherently contain rich meanings and beauty; each character is like an independent painting, emphasizing structural balance, appropriate spacing, and dynamic rhythm in writing, focusing on the cadence of brush and ink. The strokes create a beauty of imagery that combines the concrete and abstract, becoming the most representative artistic expression of Eastern aesthetics.

Recalling the painstaking effort to study Hebrew for the design of the “Covenant” rings, striving for accuracy… Only now do I realize that the Chinese characters, which have accompanied me since childhood and are taken for granted, are actually more ancient and profound, with a long-standing history.

Four Seasons Imagery employs the plique-à-jour enamel technique, allowing colors to shimmer in the light, condensing the tender green of spring, the lushness of summer, the golden hues of autumn, and the pure white of winter into a small space, like the flow of seasonal light and shadow, presenting a transparent and delicate quality; it can be worn as a pendant or earrings, lightly adorning daily outfits.

  • Spring: In the mind, the spring breeze caresses the willows, tender yellow buds begin to sprout, all things revive with vitality, awakening the dormant earth.
  • Summer: A sudden vision of “endless lotus leaves stretching to the horizon, lotus flowers reflecting the sun in a different red,” showcasing the splendor of midsummer.
  • Autumn: A season of harvest, various shades of yellow depict the colorful autumn hues in memory.
  • Winter: Cold and pure, tranquil and profound, brewing a new beginning in the silence.

“Four Seasons Imagery” is a poetic journey through the aesthetics of Chinese characters and the artistry of enamel — a reflection of life’s vivid passages, dedicated to those who savor the rhythms of time and compose their own stories along the way.
